Sorry Kindle, You’re Just Not That Good In Bed

I’m going to put my bias aside for this blog post. What do I mean by bias? I’ll tell you; I hate eReaders. Hate them. What’s wrong with books? In my opinion, you look a fool sitting there reading one. Now, I read a lot of books, I love having something in front of me, that I have to bookmark, turn the pages, maybe spoil it with a coffee stain, and when I’m finished, add it to my bookshelf, it’s character, they’re collectable, and they smell great. Half of the magic is lost when it’s printed in front of you in pixels on a crappy piece of cheap plastic.

Now I’ve heard a few arguments for them, example; “they’re brilliant, they’re really light, and I have like 500 books on here”. Ok, cool story, bro. You’re only ever going to read one at a time. As far as I can tell, the only reason you’d have one, is if you’re embarrassed that you’re reading a naughty book. Yeah, that’s right, I said it. The next time you see that weird looking man with the comb over, socks and sandals, sitting on the tube, shiftily glancing around, and then back to his ebook reader, looking a little sweatier than is considered normal, you know why.

Maybe it saves weight or something, it’s not exactly a dumbbell is it?

Usually, it’s considered criminal to mention your competitors in an advert, never mind calling them out. It’s not exactly a revolutionary idea, but it certainly has gotten one up on the Kindle, I guess. Powered by its new “GlowLight”, the Barnes and Noble’s “Nook Simple Touch’s” angle is simple; it lets you read in the dark, without the light on. No longer, will argue with your spouse over keeping them up at night, and no longer will you have to stay on the couch to read whilst they go off to bed.

So there you have it, the Barnes and Noble “Nook Simple Touch”.
